High-Efficiency Static Screen | Zero-Energy Liquid-Solid Separation | Hydronovus

Reduce suspended solids with zero energy consumption. The Hydronovus Static Screen features a clog-free wedge-wire design ideal for industrial and municipal wastewater.

High-Efficiency Static Screen

Short Description
The Hydronovus Static Screen is a highly reliable, non-powered solid-liquid separation device engineered to filter out suspended solids (SS), floating debris, and sediments from wastewater. Utilizing a precision-welded wedge-wire screen, this gravity-driven equipment effectively reduces the processing load on downstream biological and chemical processes. It is an incredibly cost-effective solution for both municipal sewage pretreatment and the recovery of valuable by-products in industrial manufacturing.

⚙️ How It Works (Gravity-Fed Separation)

The main body of the static screen features a specifically engineered arc-shaped (or flat) stainless steel surface made from V-shaped profile wire.
  1. Distribution: Wastewater is pumped or gravity-fed into the headbox and evenly distributed across the inclined screen surface via an overflow weir.
  1. Filtration: As water cascades down the screen, the sharp leading edge of the wedge wire shears the liquid away, allowing filtered water to flow smoothly through the gaps.
  1. Continuous Discharge: Solid matter is intercepted on the surface. The kinetic energy and hydraulic force of the cascading water push the solids down to the lower end of the sieve plate, where they are continuously discharged.

🌟 Key Engineering Advantages

  • Zero Energy Consumption: Operates entirely on the gravity of the water itself, resulting in zero electrical operating costs (OPEX) for the separation process.
  • Clog-Free Wedge Wire Technology: The V-shaped (wedge) steel rods create a screen with a small, smooth surface but a widening gap on the back. This intelligent profile ensures smooth drainage and prevents solids from wedging and blinding the screen.
  • Heavy-Duty Construction: The filter components are manufactured from premium seam-welded stainless steel (SUS304/316), guaranteeing high mechanical strength, zero deformation, and resistance to cracking under continuous flow.
  • Low Maintenance: Designed for minimal intervention. The system requires only occasional manual flushing of the grid seams to maintain peak filtering efficiency.
💡 Sizing Pro-Tip: Static screens are designed for steady-state flow and do not absorb hydraulic shock loads. To ensure zero overflow, our engineers strongly recommend selecting a model with a processing capacity strictly greater than your plant's absolute maximum peak flow.

🏭 Typical Applications

The static screen's versatility makes it the perfect primary filtration step across heavily loaded industries:
  • Food & Beverage Processing: Slaughterhouses (removing fur, grease, feces), fish and meat processing (offal, scales), breweries and malt factories, and alcohol/starch plants (recovering plant fibers).
  • Agriculture & Livestock: Poultry and livestock farm wastewater pretreatment.
  • Heavy Industry & Manufacturing: Papermaking (fiber recovery), tanneries (fur and grease removal), pharmaceuticals, sugar refineries, textile plants, and plastic processing.
  • Municipal Utilities: Pretreatment for urban domestic sewage, hotels, and residential communities.
